Fernande L. (Belleau) Labrecque, 102, wife of the late George E. Labrecque, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Beverly Hospital after a short illness.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Theophile and Albina (Audet) Belleau. She attended Salem Schools and enjoyed being raised near the ocean where she spent many happy times. In addition to raising six children, she was an accomplished seamstress, gardener and pianist. She enjoyed her nature walks through the Salem Woods with her family. She was an avid reader until she lost her vision.
Fernande was a member of Les Dames de la Ste. Famille of the former St. Joseph Parish and was also a communicant of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.
She is survived by her six children, Therese, Carmen & Andrea Labrecque all of Salem, Jeanne Paskowsky and her husband Richard of Andover, Monique Labrecque of Sanbornton, NH and George E. Labrecque, Jr. of Kirkland, NB, Canada. She also leaves nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and her brother Rudolph Belleau and his wife Beatrice of Beverly, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Leonette Strout & Simone Strout and brother , Emilio “Meo” Belleau.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with a reception to follow. There are no visiting hours and her burial, at a later date will be private.
