Obituary

Ann M. (Devlin) Boyle, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Royal Meadowview Nursing Home in North Reading. She was 100 years of age.

Ann was born in Boston on March 6, 1918, a daughter of the late Bernard Devlin and Catherine (Devlin) Devlin formerly of Donegal, Ireland. Ann grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Ann was a Teachers Aide for the Boston Public School system for many years. In her childhood years growing up in Charlestown, Ann learned the art of Irish step dancing and went on to become a champion Irish step dancer. She enjoyed all types of dancing with her husband Ed and looked forward to the senior aerobic sessions and luncheons with her 4 dear friends from Charlestown. Most importantly in Ann's life was her family and she cherished the quality times she was able to spend with each one of her family members especially the care her 3 daughters have given her in the last 6 years of her life.

Ann is the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Boyle. She is the devoted mother of Edward J. Boyle Jr. and his wife Evelyn, Ann Nolan and her husband Nippy, Cathy Shea and her husband Paul and Carol Devlin and her husband Denis. She is the loving Nana to 12 grandchildren and Nana Nana to 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of the later Philip Devlin, John Devlin and Bernard Devlin. She is also lovingly survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ann's Funeral on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
