SPRINGFIELD – Mary (Kalenkowitz) Ligarski, 88, a longtime resident of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, July 8, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on July 12, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Wassail and Mary (Knevich) Kalenkowitz. She was raised in Springfield, attended the High School of Commerce and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was employed for many years as a banquet waitress at the Marriott Hotel in Springfield. She was a communicant of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Orthodox Church in Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley Ligarski, Jr. who was Called Home on December 13, 1985. She leaves her two loving daughters, Paula A. Pescitelli and her husband, Francis, of Montgomery and Jane M. Milanczuk of Westfield; her three cherished grandchildren, Laura A. Hudson, Michael S. Milanczuk and his wife, Melissa, and Victoria M. Luccardi and her husband, Eric; her three cherished great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Willow and Lincoln Milanczuk; her dear sister, Sophie Milne of Pennsylvania; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
