New Bedford William Warren Mogayzel died Sunday November 20, 2005 at the Oaks Nursing Home in New Bedford. He was the husband of Elsie R.(Vieira) Mogayzel. Survivors include 3 sons William Mogayzel of Scituate, MA., Bruce Mogayzel of Framingham, MA., and Mark Mogayzel of Storrs, CT. 2 daughters Jane Mogayzel, and Lynn Siversten both of N. Dartmouth. A Deceased daughter Susan Mogayzel , brothers and sisters Julia Cardoza of Orleans, MA., Barbara Mckinney of Warwick RI., Charles Mogayzel of Pawtucket RI., and Sally McConaghy of Middletown RI., deceased brother John Mogayzel.Grandchildren Brandon,and William Mogayzel III,and Krista Vieira.
Mr. Mogayzel was born in Warren RI., He was a longtime Dartmouth Resident. He was the son of the late Abby (Kalifie) and Simon Mogayzel. He worked as a Sales Manager for Redman Card Clothing for 30 Years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. He attended New Bedford Institute of Technology. He was the Commander of the American Legion where he was a member since 1975. Mr. Mogayzel was an inventor of Tru-Loc which was sold to Draper Corp, an advancement to the Weaving Industry, and was a Volunteer Consultant to the Textile Institute at UMass Dartmouth., He was a Pioneer in the Development of the Water Jet Loom Technology. He was also an avid Boater and Fisherman.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday November 26, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church South Dartmouth, MA. Visiting hours will be Friday November 25, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Burial will take place at St John cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Massachusetts Lupus Foundation 40 Speen St. Suite # 205 Framingham, MA. 01701-9376.
