James Benjamin Forrest (Jim), age 82, of Ventura, Ca. passed away on June 7th, 2018 in his home. Jim was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada, to Benjamin Forrest and Alberta Matchett Forrest on October 8, 1935. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree at University of New Brunswick, a Masters' of Engineering degree at University of Vancouver in British Columbia, and a PhD of Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He also earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern California Institute of Law. Jim enjoyed playing tennis, skiing, and scuba diving. He traveled the world and enjoyed many adventures along the way. Later in life, he enjoyed taking exercise classes, walking the dogs and spending weekends in Encino, going to the theater. He had three younger brothers: Everett, Wayne and Ronnie Forrest. He is preceded in death by Everett and Wayne; survived by Ronnie of Miramichi, New Brunswick. Jim was also survived by sons Scott Forrest of San Diego, Ca. and Stephen Forrest of Albuquerque New Mexico, daughter Julia Queen of Ventura, and grandchildren Damian and Casey Queen of Ventura. He is preceded in death by his wife, Katrina Forrest Staib.
Family and friends are invited to Funeral Services to be held Saturday July 21, 2018 at 12 Noon in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E Main St, Ventura. The family will receive and visit with guests at 11:30am.
