Rhode Island – Domingos C. Gago, age 82, passed away on July 7, 2018 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Maria do Carmo (Jesus) Gago. Domingos was born in Setubal, Portugal and was the son of the late Domingos and Ilda (dos Santos) Gago.
Domingos loved the ocean and everything related to it. He loved watching soccer on TV, listening to it on the radio as well as, watching it on the computer. He was a lifelong associate of the Vitoria de Setubal Soccer team. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, solitaire, playing dominos and grilling sardines.
Domingos had many lifelong friends who were like family to him. He was a kind and gentle man who was well loved by everyone who knew him.
Domingos was a loving husband, father and was adored by his grandchildren. We will forever treasure our hero. Our lives are forever changed but your memories will always live in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Maria; son, Domingos F. Gago and his wife, Lucy; daughter, Isabel (Gago) Da Silva; 6 grandchildren, Alexia, Sarah and Katia Da Silva, the late Abby, Aaden and Myla Rose Gago; a great granddaughter, Freida Da Silva; a sister, Lucia of Setubal; several nieces and nephews and their families; as well as, close cousins and dear friends. He was also predeceased by his sister, Ivone.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday between 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
