Roberta A. Mayo, age 62, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the loving companion of Guy DiBella of Mansfield.
Born in Boston, MA on December 19, 1955, she was a loving daughter of the late Albert F., Sr. and Frances H. (McLaughlin) Mayo.
Roberta grew up in Dorchester and was a 1973 graduate of Dorchester High School. She recently retired in 2017 from the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury; where she had been employed for forty-three years as a Medical Correspondent.
A resident of Mansfield for the past thirty-nine years, she was a communicant of St Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Roberta enjoyed dining out, trips in Twin River Casino and generously taking care of her many cats throughout the years.
She was the devoted sister of William Mayo, Sr. and his wife Barbara of Rockland, Allan Mayo, Sr. of Quincy, Donald Mayo of Mansfield, Anne Solano and her husband Edward of Marlboro, and the late Albert Mayo, Jr., Frances Biederman, Kathryn Bernner, Diane Galley, Lawrence Mayo and Frederick Mayo. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her cherished godchild Cynthia Galley.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14th at 11:00 A.M. in St Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Saturday morning from 8:30-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
