Jean M. Dunleavey, 81

Jean M. (Savino) Dunleavey, age 81, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield. She was the beloved wife of the late James R. Dunleavey, Sr., who died on May 14, 2000.
Born in Sharon, MA on February 19, 1937, she was a loving daughter of the late Anthony and Adeline (DeGirolamo) Savino.
Jean was raised in Canton and was a 1955 graduate of Canton High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for most of her life, and along with her late husband and family; owned and operated the former Jim’s Sunoco on Copeland Drive in Mansfield.
Jean’s family was the greatest part of her life. She delighted in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite past times were reading, crossword puzzles and being a loyal fan of the New England Patriots.
She is survived by her devoted children Sandra J. Moore and her husband Robert of Norton, Judith F. Hodgdon and her husband Maurice of New Hampshire, Janet M. Thurston and her husband Mark of Mansfield, Susan E. Krueck of Plainville and James R. Dunleavey, Jr. of Plainville. She was the dear sister of Frances Dunleavey and her husband Michael of Virginia, the late Diane Howard, who is survived by her husband Robert Howard of Norton and the late Dorothy Savino. She is also survived by her cherished 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, July 13th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Attleboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 12th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
