HIRAM - Sandra M. Butterfield, 81, died on July 4, 2018 at her sons house in Hiram, Maine after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was the daughter of Elsie White, of Jonesport, Maine.
She grew up in Jonesport, Maine and spent most of her adult life living in Portland and Bangor, Maine and Palm Bay, Florida. She is survived by her three children; Bruce McLaughlin, of Hiram, Maine, and his partner, Patty. His four children; Sara, Jacob, Leah and Daniel. Her son, Brian McLaughlin, of Bartow, Florida, and his wife Jennifer, and his three children, Brianna, Austin and Dylan. And her daughter, Leslie M. Tibbetts, of Bar Harbor, Maine, and her husband, Wes Tibbetts.
She always had a very strong love for animals and had very many pets over the years. She was a huge supporter of animals rights and had always supported her local shelters and the ASPCA. She also loved music and played many different instruments during her life, but her favorite was the organ. She spent most of her retired years volunteering at numerous different places, including being a certified hospice volunteer. She always loved to help people in need.
There will be no funeral services, per her wishes. Those who desire, may make contributions, in her name, to the Hancock County SPCA in Trenton, Maine.
