Obituary

Worcester: Edith E. Hopewell, 98, also known as Princess Half Moon, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Hermitage Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves a granddaughter Tanya Williams and her husband Rickie Williams; 4 great grandchildren- Kayleigh Monahan, Elijah Williams, Reina Williams, and Charlese Williams; she had 9 siblings- she leaves behind 4 sisters Gloria Hopewell, Shirley Kibbe, Glenda Mansker and Carole Phillips. She is predeceased by Angenette Stewart, Charles Morse, Lucille Walley, Edwin Morse, and Dorothy Prince. She leaves many nieces and nephews including Glen Prince, Mark Lomba, and Elizabeth Santana-Kiser. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Hopewell and her son Charles Emerson Cason.

Edith was born in Marlboro, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Henries) Morse. She dedicated her life to her family and tribe. She was the oldest member of the Nipmuck Native American Indian Tribe. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and she will always be remembered as a fantastic cook, loved to play her lottery listening and dancing to music.

A graveside service and burial will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. To leave an online condolence message, please click link.
