Obituary

Algirdas Cesnavicius of Croton-on-Hudson, NY died unexpectedly on June 25, 2018 at N.Y. Presbyterian at Hudson Valley. He was 74. Mr. Cesnavicius worked as a mechanical engineer for Burns and Roe Enterprises, Raytheon, and Ebasco designing power plants and consulting for 48 years.
Mr. Cesnavicius was born in Vilkaviskis, Lithuania to Eleonora and Justinas Cesnavicius. He was educated in England, Notre Dame H.S. in West Haven, Ct., and Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y.
He also took advanced courses in engineering and was licensed in numerous states.
While working in Wyoming in 1969 he got a private pilot’s license.
He lived in Croton-on-Hudson for the past 27 years and before that in Peekskill and Ossining.
He was extremely devoted to his family and friends and was always willing to help anyone with a project. He had a gentle kind spirit and never spoke a harsh word to anyone. He was an enthusiastic arborist and avid reader especially automobile magazines.
He is survived by his brother Romas of North Carolina, his sister Zita of Garrison, NY and nephew Justin of California as well as relatives in Connecticut and Lithuania.
Family members who died earlier include his father, Justinas who died June 9, 2018, his mother, Eleonora in 1992 and his nephew Alan in Nov. 2016.
Funeral Mass is Tuesday, 7/3/18 at 10AM at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining, N.Y. Arrangements entrusted to John G. Crawford Memorial Services.
