Obituary

Rosa Carolyn Hogan Story, 80, of Sycamore passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Affectionately known as Nana, Mrs. Story was born on October 20, 1937 to the late David Thomas and Ora Elizabeth Williams Hogan. She was a member of the Irwinville Sewing Club and volunteered at Tift Regional Medical Center as a Pink Lady. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the WMU and church hostess committee. Mrs. Story retired from the Turner County Board of Education and Crisp County Board of Education having worked as a teacher for many years. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Roy Story, Sr. of Sycamore; her children, Debbie (Danny) Godwin of Sycamore, Jay (Karen) Story of Sycamore, Keith (Johnna) Story of Sycamore and Jerry (Michelle) Story of Sycamore; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Vivian Ross of Ocilla and Patricia Barber of Nashville and one brother, Don Hogan of Lineville, Alabama.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five bothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 3-5 PM at the funeral home.
