Elena McCarthy, 96, of Johnston, died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Briarcliff Manor in Johnston. She was the widow of Leo McCarthy.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Donato and Jenny (D’Andreta) Pastore. She had lived in North Providence for 35 years before moving to Johnston. At one time Elena had done piece work in her home. She also worked for the former Gorham Manufacturing. She retired from Domestic Bank as a Mortgage Loan Processor.
She is survived by her children: Daniel McCarthy and his wife, Karen of Harrisville and Rose Morton and her husband, James of Newport, her grandchildren: Melissa, Jason and Matthew McCarthy, Sarah Mushel, Jennifer Cox and Jeffrey and Lauren Morton, her great grandchildren: Alexander and Avyanna Morton, Alexis and Shane Cox, Liam and Michael McCarthy and Landon and Charlotte Mushel and her sister: Virginia Mulcahey of North Providence. She was the mother of the late Leo McCarthy and sister of the late Domenic Pastore and Antonetta Galligan.
Her funeral service will be held Monday at 11:30 am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Monday 10:30-11:30am.
