Obituary

Artemio L. Costello, 80, of Woonsocket died Wednesday June 27, 2018 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. He was the loving husband of the late Alice J. (McGirl) Costello who passed away in 2009.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he was a son of the late Sebastian and Louise (Kepier) Costello. Artemio’s father Sebastian was killed during WWII while serving with the United States Merchant Marines.
Mr. Artemio Costello served in the United States Navy for over 20 years at a number of postings stateside, aboard ship and at overseas naval bases.
In civilian life Artmeio was employed as a machine assembler in the jewelry manufacturing industry. In his spare time he enjoyed nature and spending time fishing.
He is survived by three sons John Costello and his wife Therese, Robert Costello and Jose Costello and his wife Linda, two daughters Marie Chuddy and Patrice Lee. He was predeceased by all of his siblings. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A committal service with military honors will be Monday at 1:30 pm at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail in Exeter. Visiting hours are Monday from 10:00 am-12:30 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
