Obituary

Mr. William M. Sullivan, a resident of E. Falmouth, formerly of Medford and beloved husband of Shirley A. (Fentross) passed away at his home, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, following a long and courageous battle against cancer.

Bill was born in Malden, MA, on August 6, 1938. He was the beloved son of the late William J. and Lillian (Brennan) Sullivan. He was a graduate of Malden Catholic, Class of 1956. He received a BS from Tufts University in 1960 and MBA from Boston College in 1969. He worked for many years in the biotech and financial industries. Bill enjoyed coaching and following hockey, reading and golf. He is a member of MC’s Athletics Hall of Fame, having been named in 1956, the best all scholastic hockey defenseman in the state. He loved hockey but his greatest love above all was his family. His constant encouragement and unconditional love will be sorely missed.

Besides his beloved wife of 52 years, Shirley, Bill is survived by his loving children, Christopher (Stephanie) Sullivan of North Andover, Kathleen (Mark) Rowe of Apex, NC, Kerry (William) Radochia of Medford and Colleen (Eric) Burt of Cedar Knolls, NJ; cherished grandchildren Olivia, Connor, Caroline, Patrick, Brendan, Reagan, Charlotte, Declan and the late Julia.

Bill also leaves his brother, Joseph (Maureen) Sullivan of Wakefield; his in-laws, Kathleen and Paul Cabral of Medford, Ellen and Joseph Tonello of Medford and Francis and Kathleen Fentross of Amherst, NH and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Monday, July 2, 2018, at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Bone Marrow Transplant Program, Massachusetts General Hospital, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA.
