New Bedford – Stella C. Macedo, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Virginio C. and Mary J. (Medeiros) Macedo.
Stella was born in New Bedford, MA and had been a manager for Macedo’s Pharmacy. She was a member of the New Creation Prayer Community and also loved refinishing and restoring furniture. She also loved her family, traveling and CCD classes.
She is survived by her sisters, Theresa Brune, Natalie Stawasz and her husband, Stanley Stawasz, sister-in-law, Mary C. Macedo; as well as, several nieces, nephews and godchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Alice and Mary; brothers, Ferdinand and Gene; sister-in-law, Gladys Macedo and brother-in-law, Manuel Brune.
Stella’s visiting hours will be Friday morning in the funeral home between 9:00-10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
