FALL RIVER – Dorothy (Travis-Arruda) Lima, age 92, of Fall River, passed away June 25, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel “Barry” Lima Jr. for 64 years. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hortense (Arruda) Travis. Dorothy was the oldest of 7 siblings. She retired at an early age from Adams House as a housekeeper to help care for her 2 grandsons.
Dorothy is survived by her children John Lima and Elaine (husband David) Tavares all of Fall River; sisters Theresa Tavares, Tessie Simcoe and Stella Sheldon; grandson Joshua Tavares as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Lillian Pinheiro, Elvira Camara, John and Joseph Travis and her grandson Jonathan Lima.
