Louis B. Cardoza, 85, of New Bedford died Monday, June 25, 2018 at home after a brief illness.
Born in Falmouth, son of the late Manuel and Evelyn (Barrows) Cardoza, he lived in New Bedford and Mattapoisett for many years.
He was formerly employed by J.C. Rhodes for 30 years and then worked for PACE Headstart on Smith Street for 10 years.
Louis was a member of the Gaylords. An avid golfer, he was one of the founders of 9-18 Golf Club. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
He is survived by two brothers, Donald R. Cardoza of New Bedford and Daniel T. Cardoza of Maryland; his sister, Rose Marie Lombard of North Harwich; his longtime friends, Lucky, Moose, and Ron; and several nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.
He was predeceased by his companion, Alice Pina, and his siblings, Jeannette Almeida, Nancy Cardoza, Melvin John Cardoza, and Manuel Cardoza, Jr.
His Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12 Noon in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
