Janet Anne (Tichyno) Hastings, 83, of East Walpole died June 25 in Norwood Hospital.
Born in Norwood, March 5,1935, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sabatis) Tichyno, Mrs. Hastings was a lifelong East Walpole resident.
She was a graduate of Walpole High School, class of 1953.
Janet had been a waitress at the former Golden Steer Steak House in East Walpole for many years.
She was an avid sports fan, especially of the Boston Bruins. She enjoyed playing tennis and trips to the beach. The most joy was brought to her by being in the company of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Katy Gaffney and her husband George of East Walpole and Tim Hastings and his wife Lori of Norton.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erin, Tara, Brie, Ben and Emily.
She was the sister of the late Ellie Doran and Marion Milbury.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews of the Milbury and Doran families.
Her visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 2 in the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole from 10:00-Noon.
Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.
