Obituary

In Attleboro, June 25, 2018, Robert “Bob”W. Studley, passed away in Sturdy Memorial Hospital following a lengthy period of declining health at the age of 83. Robert leaves his beloved wife of 60 years Barbara A. (Witherell) Studley. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Robert Studley & Mary (Pagliuca) Emond. Robert was educated in Taunton schools and had resided here all his life. He owned and operated the Studley Sealer & Blacktop Service. Robert served the City of Taunton on its City Council for 32 years and on the Police Committee for 32 years. He was a member of the Taunton Elk’s Lodge, #150. Robert was instrumental in organizing the Let Kids Swim at Hopewell Park and also the Taunton Bicentennial Parade. He volunteered at the Taunton Boys & Girls Club and was awarded its Man of the Year. Bob enjoyed doing magic shows, dancing, vacationing in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, dining out and above all cherished his time with family. In addition to his wife Barbara, Robert leaves his loving children Carol Medeiros and her husband Tony of Taunton, Robert Studley of Taunton and Steven Studley and his wife Susan of Taunton. He leaves his grandchildren Bret Medeiros of Taunton, Casey Studley of GA and Erica Studley of AL and Christopher and Caitlin Studley of Taunton, and his great grandchildren Carter and Reese. Robert leaves his brothers Donald Studley, Armand and Michael Emond and was the brother of the late Jerome and Paul Studley. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, June 30th at 10AM. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Friday from 4-7PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
