Mrs. Elizabeth M. (Symonds) Irving, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Robert F. Irving, passed away at the Glen Ridge Nursing Center in Medford on Friday morning, June 22, 2018. She was 93 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on May 29, 1925, she was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur V. and Dorothy E. (Ballentyne) Symonds. Elizabeth was a graduate of Medford High School. She had been employed as a Manager for AT&T for more than 30 years. In her spare time, Elizabeth loved to go shopping, watching the Cardinals in her back yard and looking at her flowers grow. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at her cottage in New Ipswich, New Hampshire. Above all, she loved to be with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children; Linda C. Irving and her husband Michael Gursky of Kingston, New Hampshire, Judith G. Lovas of Kearney, New Jersey, Robin F. Irving of Medford, Nancy S. and her husband Brian O’Connor of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Cynthia D. and her husband Christopher Sasso of Medford and Sandra E. and her husband Curt Diettrich of Medford, grandchildren; Chris Irving and his significant other Jenn Tadeo, Krystina Gursky and her significant other Shawn Shea, Renee Robichaud, Mike Sasso, Rebecca Lovas, Sarah Diettrich, Curt Diettrich, Jr. Alexis Sasso and Joshua Diettrich and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Carl and his wife Florence Symonds, Alan and his wife Barbara Symonds and Arthur Symonds.
Her Funeral Service will be celebrated in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Maglizozi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, June 29, 2018, from 3 to 7 PM.
