J.L. Hasty, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Hasty was born December 12, 1935, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Rev. Coy V. & Irene Petty Hasty. He was a truck driver for 58 years, driving for Elixir Industries and Lippert Components. He proudly passed down his love of trucking to his children. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Hasty was a member of the former Northside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Imogene Brickle Hasty of Fitzgerald; children: Ricky Hasty of New Hampshire, LaRue & Donna Hasty of Fitzgerald and Dean & Amanda Hasty of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jamie Hasty, Travis Hasty, Justin Hasty & Chelsea, Lauren Hasty, Kayla Hopson & Steven, Candice Hasty & Jacob Haynes, and Deena Wright & Kevin; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Hasty of Pensacola, Florida; a sister-in-law, Loyce Funnell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two nieces and a nephew. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother-in-law.
