CHICOPEE ~ Diane Louise (Benoit) LaFleur, 65, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, June 18, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at Willimansett Center West in Chicopee surrounded by all of the memories that she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on September 11, 1952, a beloved daughter of the late Raymond H. and Theresa M. (Authier) LaFleur. She was raised and educated in Chicopee and had lived in South Hadley for most of her life before moving back to Chicopee in 2012. She was a Captain and longtime volunteer for the Civil Air Patrol at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee and also at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield. During her free time, she enjoyed knitting and sewing. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Robert E. LaFleur who was Called Home on April 25, 2012. She leaves her son, Kyle R. LaFleur and his wife, Erin, of Enfield, CT; her granddaughter, Maive LaFleur; her two dear sisters, twins Donna Dupuis of Beaufort, NC and Denise Fournier and her husband, Roland, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the LaFleur and Benoit families. Her family and friends are invited to attend a Committal Service on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Springfield Unit, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or to the Rays of Hope, Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
