Sylvia Jean Hunchard, 80, of Franklin MA passed away peacefully on June 22, 2018 at home with her family and close friends near her side.
Jean was born in Milford, MA on September 11, 1937 to the late Armand and Dorothy (McKenna) Bartolomei. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin, a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1955, and attended Fisher Junior College. She worked for many years at J.J. Newberry Company and in later years at the Dean College Bookstore and Student Health Center in Franklin.
Jean was married to her dear husband, Edward, for 59 years. She is survived by her husband and her three sons, Mark Edward of Mashpee, MA, Michael Jeffrey and his wife Judy of Uxbridge, MA, Stephan Joseph and Kathy Dube of Franklin, MA. She is also survived by many family members including close nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Jean was a very caring and loyal mother to her three sons. The family spent many summers going on camping trip adventures when her boys were young. Later, in life, she and her husband enjoyed traveling on trips around New England and to Niagara Falls. She also enjoyed spending time during holidays and get togethers with family and friends, as well as hosting summer cookouts along with swimming in their backyard pool.
Some of Jean’s favorite things to do were knitting, reading, cooking and watching local sports, especially cheering on the Patriots. She also enjoyed keeping in touch regularly with many close relatives and friends and was happy to make sure that no one missed out on any important news. All that knew Jean, delighted in her fun-loving ways, her laughter, and unique personality.
She was blessed to have the help and support of her family, friends and neighbors during her time of need in recent years.
