Dorothy “Ann” Yancey Atwater, 77, of Tifton passed away Friday, June 22, 2018, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Atwater at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The family will receive friends Monday, June 25, 2018, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Garrison Jones, John Davis, Andy Walker, Patrick Atwater, Brian Atwater and Maurice Hobby will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 29, 1940 in Moultrie, Mrs. Atwater was the daughter of the late R. B. Yancey and Hilda Weldon Yancey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hull Asbury Atwater II, who passed away in 2013; and one son, John Perry Atwater. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor.
Mrs. Atwater is survived by one son, Hull Asbury Atwater III of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Yancey Davis and Davy Davis of Tifton; one brother, Jim Yancey of LaGrange; four grandchildren, John Davis, Katie Davis Walker and husband Andy, Sarah Atwater and Emily Atwater; and five great-grandchildren, Alexis Atwater, Noah Atwater, Wesley Hollinger, Evan Jenkins and Henry Walker.
