Alfred "Big Al" Boutin, 74, of Little Compton, RI quietly passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, June 22, 2018. He was the husband of Nancy Oliveira, they shared 23 years of marriage.
Al was born on August 7, 1943 in Fall River, MA to the late Archille and Dorilla (Bouchard) Boutin. After graduating from Durfee High School, he served 4 years in the Air Force. Al began his career with the phone company, retiring from Verizon in 1999 as a manager after 35 years of service during which he earned a BS and MBA in management. Al was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed all sports. He will be remembered as "Big Al", everybody's pal.
Along with his wife, survivors include his daughters: Susan Grinnell (Scott) of Tiverton and Ellen Cabral (John) of Tiverton; his son: Jason Boutin (Jen) of Clifton Park, NY; 7 step children; 2 brothers: Donald Boutin (Jackie) of San Antonio, TX and Normand Boutin (partner Susan) of Homosassa, FL; 4 grandchildren; 16 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Claire Bonoan.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at First Baptist Old Stone Church, 7 Old Stone Church Rd., Tiverton, RI 02878 at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Wednesday, at the church, from 9:30-11 A.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
