Brenda Dee Winters Henderson, 71, of Water Valley, MS died Friday, June 22, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born June 30, 1946 in Emily City, MI to the late Ray Winters and Dorothy Day Lowry, and worked as a thread clerk at Big Yank for many years in Water Valley. She was happily married to Donald Henderson for fifty-four years and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Brenda taught children in Sunday School and also worked in the nursery. She was an avid Water Valley band and Blue Devil fan, and she coached softball every summer in her younger days where she taught most of the girls in Water Valley how to play ball. She loved flowers, her grandchildren, and her very faithful dog named Cooper. She also loved sitting on her porch and visiting with her family and friends.
Visitation is planned for Monday June 25, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. Hal Clark officiating.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Donald Henderson of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Glenda Henderson Gordon and Melinda Henderson Grimmett (James), both of Water Valley, MS; a sister, Linda Winters Wright (Perch) of Southaven, MS; and three grandchildren, John Michael Grimmett, Mack Gordon, and Edee Grace Henderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Henderson Lewis and a brother, Raymond Winters.
