Lewis A. Poillucci 82, Retired Firefighter City of Newton, died peacefully at his home June 20th. He was the beloved husband of Catherine L. (Antonellis) Poillucci.
Born September 18, 1935 in Boston, a son of the late Rocco and Louise M. Poillucci, he was a former longtime resident of West Newton.
He was raised and educated in Watertown, and worked as a firefighter for 24 years in the City of Newton.
A proud American he served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in January 1961.
Lewis was devoted to his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he leaves son, Joseph Poillucci and his wife Kareyanne of West Wareham and daughter, Paula Poillucci Schneid of Middletown, RI, formally of Medway, MA and granddaughters Nicole, Brittany, and Alysa and great grandson Anthony, whom he cherished.
Also surviving a brother George E. Poillucci of Waltham, & a sister Loretta L. Michaud of Fitchburg.
He was the brother of the late Ralph Poillucci and Phyllis Lombardo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Thursday June 28th at the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 11AM-1PM.
His services and interment will be held privately.
