Joseph (Joe) M. Cuomo, 89, of Medway died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Palma (Pam) F. (Rizzo) Cuomo who died in 2013. He is survived by two daughters, Jodi Cuomo of Las Vegas and Renee Cassidy and her husband Kevin and grandson Joseph Cassidy of Framingham MA. He is also survived by his sister Helen Mistretta of Staten Island and Salvatore Cuomo of Florida and was predeceased by his sister Nancy.
Born in New York City, New York on April 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Elvira (Pape) Cuomo. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School. Joe moved to Poughkeepsie with his wife and resided there until retiring to Las Vegas in 1990 and then moving to Medway in 2009.
Joe was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a small business owner and then an IBM employee for many years. He was a founding member of the Arlington Lions Club in New York.
Known to his close friends and family as “Sonny” he had a genuine zest for life and a great spirit. He will truly be missed.
Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
