John J. Cordeiro 98 passed away peacefully on Saturday May 26, 2018. He was the husband of the late Virginia L. Cordeiro and Stella K. Cordeiro.
He lived in East Weymouth and had worked for the Town of Weymouth for 25 years, retiring to Taunton.
John was a proud Veteran of the US Army Air Force having served from 1942-1946.
He is survived by his daughter Leonice Horn of California and his son Jeffrey Cordeiro and his wife Susan of Whitman.
He was the proud “Gramps” to Glenn Tyrala and his wife Lucy and Stacy Tyrala all of California, Sherry Rollins of Whitman, Jeffrey Cordeiro and his wife Erina of Rochester and Kimberly Cordeiro of Whitman.
He was also “Boopa” to six great grandchildren, Christopher Cordeiro of Whitman, Brian and Jessica Rollins of Whitman, Cadence Cordeiro of Rochester and Miguel and Javier Tyrala of California.
He also leaves behind his brother George Cordeiro of Brockton and his sister Vivian Heffernan of Kingston. He was predeceased by his siblings Frank, Joseph and Manny Cordeiro, Natalie Correa, Georgie Tavares, Evyonne Roberge and Mary O’Neil.
Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service to be held Monday July 9 at 10:30AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, 20 Glebe Street, Taunton. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:30AM.
