Donald R. Connors, age 87, passed away on June 13, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on May 23, 1931 in Gardner, MA, a son of the late Thomas F. and Anna F. (Lougee) Connors. Donald was a classically trained vocalist who sang professionally in various musicals and concerts during his lifetime. He also was a passionate soloist and cantor at Blessed Sacrament in Greenfield, St Joseph’s in Springfield, the Basilica in Chicopee and St Mary’s Church in Hampden for many years. He leaves his loving wife of over 57 years, Elaine (Lemoine) Connors of East Longmeadow; 10 sons, Michael S. Connors and his wife Traci of Longmeadow, Christopher L. Connors and his wife Christine of Westfield, Paul R. Connors and his wife Joanne of Springfield, Matthew P. Connors and his wife Andrea of Longmeadow, Nicholas L. Connors and his wife Jill of Springfield, Joseph M. Connors of Agawam, Zachary J. Connors of Westfield, Kyle A. Connors of Springfield, Havier L. Connors of Springfield and Damian J. Connors of Springfield; 1 brother, Paul F. Connors and his wife Marian of Baldwinville and 7 grandchildren, Nichele (Connors) Herrick, Michael Jr., Shane, Shawn (godson), David, Leanne and Jackson Connors. He is predeceased by 3 brothers Thomas J., Robert E.., and Raymond B. Connors. A Funeral Mass will be held in St Mary’s Church in Hampden on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. burial will be private at a later date. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee, MA. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Mary’s Church 27 Somers Rd. Hampden, MA 01036 for Masses to be said in Donald’s memory.
