Filomena (Puopolo) De Crescenzo, of Medford, died Monday, June 18th.Born and raised in Anzano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Saverio and Antonia (Riggilo) Puopolo.
Filomena enjoyed cooking and baking, everything was made from scratch. She was known for her famous sauce, pasta dishes and her freshly baked cookies. Every Sunday you were guaranteed a family gathering for dinner. Filomena’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Filomena was the beloved wife of the late Antonio “Tony” De Crescenzo. She was the devoted mother of Albert De Crescenzo and his wife Immacolata “Tina”, and the late Francesca De Stefano. Loving nana of Phyllis Iacoviello and her husband Dave, Grace Bermingham and Frances Hammond and her husband Robert. Loving great-nana of Nicolas, Matthew, Olivia, Albert, Victoria and Catherine.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, Monday, June 25th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
