Marie Lourde Legagneur, a long-time resident of Boston, Mass., passed away on Thursday June 7, 2018.
Born December 11, 1950 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Marie Lourde was the daughter of Marie Therese Legagneur and the late Cresier Francois. She raised in Jeremie, Grand’ Anse, Haiti by her late grandmother Heurese Louis. She had 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Nicole Legagneur, Marie Elizinda L. Joseph, Sonja Leveque, Harrison Leveque, and Jean Gerald Francois. She was the devoted, loyal wife to Sylvestaire Pierre, who both raised 3 children: Djelna Legagneur, Duckens Pierre, and Cindy Legagneur. With a multitude of family and friends, including her cherished two granddaughters, Vlana and Djessie David, all will be left with many beautiful memories of her.
Many would say that after her grandmother’s passing Marie Lourde obtained the responsibility as the matriarch of the family. She was a proud mother, sister, wife, aunt, friend, and so much more, but most importantly, a servant to God. Every day she woke up with purpose to serve and care for everyone around her.
She was dedicated member of the St. Angela’s Church Parish.
The family will be receiving visitors at St. Angela's Church, 1548 Blue Hill Ave. Mattapan, on Saturday June 16, 2018 from 12:30 - 1:30 P.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 P.M. Immediately following the mass the burial will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery, 427 Cummins Highway Roslindale.
