Margaret Harper Railey, 74, of Tifton, Georgia, died Monday, June 11, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, June 15, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in the Lax Holiness Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia.
Ms. Railey was born August 6, 1943, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Elisha & Dessie Allen Harper. She lived in the community all of her life, except for a short time in Monroe, North Carolina. Ms. Railey was a private sitter, a cook for Dorminy Medical Center, Peck’s and Chicken Delite and also, she worked for Fitzgerald Underwear. She enjoyed cooking, making jam, reading and growing flowers. She loved her dog Buttons. Ms. Railey was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of God.
She is survived by her two daughters: Tammy Graham of Tifton and Pamela Leverett & David of Ocilla; four grandchildren: Allyson Harrison & Michael, Cameron Lott & Kandace, Payton Leverett and fiancé’ Laykn Pendarvis and Jessica Leverett and fiancé’ Nick Chaney; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ronald Harper of Ocilla and Charles Harper of Ocilla and two sisters: Mary Stover of Monroe, North Carolina and Alicia Harper of Adel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
