Edvige “Edie” F. Blais, 96, died Friday, June 8 2018 surrounded by her family in the Hebert Nursing Home in Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Gerard A. Blais. They had been married for 62 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Arthur and Clara (Cournoyer) Paine. She had lived in Johnston for years 62 previously living in Providence.
Eddie had been a Secretary for St. Thomas School in Providence and Rochambeau Worsted Company before being employed by the RI State Lottery in East Providence and Cranston before retiring.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her life.
She leaves her son, Steven M. Blais of Johnston, her grandsons, Michael and Mathew Blais of North Providence. She was the sister of the late Arthur, Benjamin, and Henry Paine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 11, 2018at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Respectfully Omitted. Burial Private.
