Arthur L. "Butchie" Doe Jr., a 17 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 7, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer at his home in Wakefield. He was 59 years of age.
Butchie was born in Boston on April 26, 1959, a son of the late Colleen M. (Pike) and Arthur L. Doe. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Butchie had been working on the Boston waterfront as a Longshoreman (Best Up Man) for the last 38 years and was a member of the International Longshoreman's Association Union Local # 805. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed visiting the race track with his good friend Tommy Denehy. Butchie is a dear friend of Bill W.
Butchie is the beloved husband of 13 years to Maryanne Rock. He is the devoted father of Thomas P. Ahearn and Danielle Doe. He is the loving grandfather to Cameron Doe Burns. He is the beloved brother of Ronnie Doe and his wife Virginia, Pat Doe and his wife Diane and the late Colleen Whalen and KellyJean Doe. He is the beloved brother-in-law of Rick Rock and his wife Karyn. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Butchie's Funeral on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Pine Haven Cemetery in Burlington. His visiting hours will be on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
