Wareham – Patricia E. (Lydon) Smith 82, passed away peacefully Monday June 4 at Tobey Hospital.
Born in Somerville she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ferndale (Freeman) Lydon.
Patricia was a proud veteran of the US Air Force having served as an Airman 2c from 1953-1955.
Patricia had been a resident of Whitman for over twenty-five years and most recently Wareham for twenty years.
Prior to her retirement she had worked many years as a LPN at the Cardinal Cushing Hospital of Brockton. For over thirty years she had been a familiar face to many, having taught dance to countless students as the owner and operator of the “Smith Studio of Dance”.
She is survived by her children, Linda Smith of AZ, David Smith and his wife Lisa of Whitman, Wanda O’Rourke and her husband Mark of Bridgewater, Joanne Thibeault of Wareham and Cindra Carey and her husband Robert of Middleboro and her brother Joseph Lydon of ME. She is also survived by her cousins Ronnie & Susan Giroux of Chelmsford as well as eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held Monday June 11 at 10:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday June 10 from 2:00-5:00.
