Michael James Vellucci, beloved husband of Susan (Kennedy), adored son of James and Roberta (Belak) Vellucci, and loving stepfather to Gregory (Gibbs), was born on July 31, 1983 in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. He passed away suddenly on June 3, 2018 in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Mike grew up in Madison, Wisconsin where, among his high school activities, he received all city honors as captain of the football team, set a weight lifting record, and was elected Prom king. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota, where he graduated in 2006 with a bachelor of science in computer science with a minor in architecture. He began his early career at Thomson Reuters, where he also met Susan. They married on October 20, 2016. Mike’s most recent position was as a SQA Architect at Avionte. Mike was a good man with a peaceful, kind, and loving heart. He was perpetually calm and peaceful, and had a special way of instilling this in others. He gave freely and generously of both his time and talent. He loved his annual fishing trips and spending time on the North Shore area of Minnesota, and he was a talented cook. Mike loved spending time with his family and his many friends from work, school, and his neighborhood. He especially loved his stepson Greg, and the love of his life, and best friend, Susan.
Mike is also survived by his brother Domenic Vellucci (fiancé Sidny Harker) of Austin, Texas; aunt and uncle Anthony and Donna Vellucci of Mansfield, OH; aunt Ruth Belak of Madison, WI; his sister in laws, Anne, Jean (Brian), and Beth; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mary Jane Vellucci, and Michael and Helen Belak.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 2PM-5PM at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. 7th Ave, North St. Paul, MN 55109. A private burial will take place at a later date.
