Geneva Doris Tucker Collins, 91, of Tifton passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Mrs. Collins will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Daniel Musselwhite, Michael Danforth, Paul Harris, Lee Henshaw, Brad Hickman, Billy Hickman, Zach Stone and Bruce Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 16, 1926 in Irwin County, Mrs. Collins was the daughter of the late Robert Walter Tucker and Katherine Maranda Carver Tucker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar “O. J.” Collins; three sisters; and one brother. Before retiring, she was employed with Winn Dixie and was a member of Tift Avenue Baptist Church. She loved the outdoors, cooking for everybody, and sewing and, above all, she loved her family.
Mrs. Collins is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Alicia Collins Hickman and husband Glenn of Alapaha and Elizabeth Collins Wilson of Tifton; one sister, Mary Parish of Ocilla; four grandchildren and their spouses, Denise Hickman Griffin and husband Tony, Dana Hickman Danforth and husband Michael, Bruce Dion Wilson and wife Angie and Jeffrey Lee Wilson; six great-grandchildren and their spouses, Meagan Overman, Chelsea Carter Henshaw and husband Lee, Breana Carter Nix, Laura Lea Carter, Jackson Danforth and James Collin Wilson; and four great-great grandchildren, Regan Overman, Garrett Overman, Lillian Nix and Glynn Henshaw.
