Joan A. Roche, 77

Joan A. (LeSage) Roche, age 77, of Norton, formerly of Hudson and Concord, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Cambridge, MA on July 26, 1940, she was a loving daughter of the late Paul B. and Julia T. (Spencer) LeSage.
Joan grew up in Concord and attended Concord Public Schools. She was a 1958 graduate of Rose Hawthorne Catholic High School and a 1963 graduate of Fitchburg State College, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Joan had taught for over thirty-eight years in the Acton school system, retiring from the Conant Elementary School. She had made her home in Norton for the past fourteen years, and previously resided in Hudson.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton, where she volunteered her assistance at Friday Night Bingo. Joan loved traveling, dining out, getting together with friends, chatting with neighbors, but most of all was very proud of her son’s accomplishments.
She is survived by her devoted sons Thomas P. Roche, PhD of Fall River and Commander James M. Roche, USN of North Carolina. She was the dear sister of Claire R. LeSage of Norton, Susan M. Vienneau and her husband Arthur of Maryland and the late Rev. Joseph V. LeSage. She was the beloved aunt of Kimala Humphreys of Maryland and Shane Vienneau of Pennsylvania.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, June 7th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Concord.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 6th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
