Kenneth Edward “Wisey” Wise, 75, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held 4 PM, Saturday, June 23, 2018, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. Earl Perry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Wise was born July 1, 1942, in Concord, Massachusetts, to the late Edward Joseph & Glenola Hart Wise. He graduated high school in Massachusetts and later joined the United States Air Force, serving from 1961 thru 1963, while in the military Mr. Wise took classes. He has lived in the community for 26 years. Mr. Wise was a heavy equipment operator and also worked for Delphi in Fitzgerald and Sunnydale in Ocilla. He was an avid hiker and climbed all the highest peaks in Massachusetts, even receiving an award. He loved nature, bird watching, tinkering in his shop, camping, traveling out West and riding motorcycles. Mr. Wise loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 27 ½ years, Sandra Wise of Ocilla; step-children: Linda D. Metcalf & Dennie of Tifton, Clinton F. Downs, Jr. & Twyla of Sumner, Ginger D. Freeman & Chris of Ocilla, Warren L. Downs & Gina of West Chester, Ohio and Kevin Downs of Ashburn; nine step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wise.
