Norman B. Izzard, 78, of Mowry Road in Greenville, died Friday, June 1, 2018. He was the devoted husband of Carol Ann (Pogonowski) Izzard. They had been married for 24 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Norman and Bertha (Gauchier) Izzard. He had lived in Smithfield for over fifty years after having moved from Johnston. Norman had served in the United States Air Force. He had also worked as a toolmaker for over thirty years before his retirement, having been employed by Goodwin & Bradley in Providence. Norman was a member of the Smithfield Elks #2359. He loved to golf and had been a longtime member of the Glocester Country Club and the Melody Hill Golf Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Norman A. Izzard of Smithfield and Jennifer Lasorsa of Glocester, as well as his seven beloved grandchildren, Brandon and Jordan Reilly, Joshua and Joseph Santos, Jonathan Izzard, and Aleksander and Padraic Reilly, and his step-children, Robert Reilly of Smithfield, Roxanne Santos of Cranston and Russ Reilly and his wife, Heidi of Greenville. He leaves many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara Lasorsa and brother in law of the Guy Lasorsa.
The family would also like to thank his caregivers, Dianna Goughour, Ray Skinner, Dayra Nunez and Roxanne Santos.
Funeral Monday at 8:30am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD HOME, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation Sunday from 4-7pm.
