Denise (Nunes) Silva of Acushnet, wife of Jeffrey P. Silva, passed away Saturday May 26, 2018 at the age of 54. Born in New Bedford, she lived in New Bedford and Acushnet all of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, and the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth, where she received Bachelors degrees in Accounting and Management, Cum Laude.
Denise worked as an accountant for PACE for over 30 years.
She inspired others to do their best and always reached out to others in need. She loved vacationing and traveling in her spare time.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey; two sons, Kyle Orrico of Boston and Jacob Silva of Acushnet; two stepdaughters, Ja'Nika Silva of Durham, NC and Jae'Lynn Williams of New Bedford; her father, Anthony Nunes and his wife Joyce of Mattapoisett; her siblings, Wendy Ehly of Acushnet, Tony Nunes of New Bedford, Mark Collins of Fairhaven, and Toni Nunes of Acushnet; and two grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia (Costa) Nunes, and her brother, Steven Nunes.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 6th at 9 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, June 5th from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
