Obituary

NEWTON -- Marci Melter, 53, of Newton, formerly of South Dartmouth, died of cancer Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Andover-Newton School of Theology.
Born in Port Washington, Wis., she was the daughter of Joseph and Charlotte (Randall) Melter of California.
A high school graduate, she furthered her education at Midwestern State, Butler University, Boston University and was in her final year of studies at Andover-Newton.
She was scheduled to graduate in May 2006 and received her diploma Friday due to her illness. She was an in-care student preparing for the ministry and a religious education director at Dover Congregational Church.
She lived in South Dartmouth from 1998-2003 and was an active member of the Congregational Church, where she was a deacon.
Survivors include her parents; three children, Mignon L. Malicoat of Indianapolis, Remi Dubois of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Michaela Malicoat of Keene, N.H.; three sisters, Christine Siano of Janesville, Wis., Cindy Lofthouse of Alameda, Calif., and Julie Van Syke of Washington; and three grandchildren.
Her memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005, at the Congregational Church of South Dartmouth.
