Fall River – Maria L. DaSilva, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Emilio Lima DaSilva and the daughter of the late Jose Augusto and Amelia (Garcia) Lima.
Maria was born in Pico, Azores and moved to this country in 1967. She was retired from Paul Modes and Manly Manufacturing. Maria was a loving and generous woman who always guided her family with words of wisdom. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who had devoted her life to her family.
Maria is survived by; daughter, Maria Emilia Tavares and her husband, Manuel Pedro of Dartmouth; granddaughter, Lisa Couto and her husband, Paul of Dartmouth and great grandson, Jacob Couto; as well as, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Fernando Augusto Lima and Maria Amelia Neves and also the sister-in-law of the late Lafayette Neves.
Maria’s visiting hours will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 -7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
