Eleanor T. "Ellie" (McGaffigan) Wehler, a 17 year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 88 years of age.
Ellie was born in Boston on December 17, 1929, a daughter of the late Edward McGaffigan and Mary (McGonagle) McGaffigan. She grew up in Boston and raised her family in Charlestown. Ellie worked at Macy's and at Jennys Pizza in Charlestown, where everyone knew her as Ellie. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No 893 in Malden.
Ellie is the devoted mother of Carol Wehler of Malden, Richard Wehler of Malden and David Wehler of Malden. She is the loving Nan to Rachel Vieira and her husband Ranato, Brittany Wehler, and to her great-grandchildren Arianna, Mila, and Caleb. She was predeceased by her 5 siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ellie's visiting hours on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her Funeral Service and burial will be private.
