Clyde R. Baxter, age 82, of Brockton, died May 25, 2018 at Boston Medical Center. Clyde was the loving husband for 46 years of Ana Evelyn (Williams) Baxter. A lifelong resident of Brockton, he was the son of the late Howard C. and Lillian (Brooks) Baxter. Clyde was a graduate of Coyle High School and attended Wentworth Institute. For over 45 years, he owned and operated C&H Auto Upholstery and following his retirement enjoyed remodeling apartments. First and foremost he loved his family. He also enjoyed traveling, boating and NASCAR-Indy auto racing. Clyde had many friends and would spend hours mentoring and socializing with them.
Clyde was the father of Branden Baxter of West Bridgewater, Clyde Baxter, Jr. of Stuart FL and Diane Shuman of Davie FL; grandfather of Hayden and Kali Ana Baxter, Rhonda Shuman and Heatha Harris and great grandfather of Olivia and Cody. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday, June 3, from 3-6pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 10am, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
