Joseph D. Fragoza, 84, of Westport passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Care One, New Bedford. He was the husband of Phyllis M. (Martin) Fragoza, they were married for 50 years.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Antone and Mary (Tavares) Fragoza, he had lived in Westport for most of his life. Prior to retirement in 1990, he had worked as a truck driver for Cumberland Farms. He was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. Mr. Fragoza was a member and past president of the Westport Holy Ghost Club, he enjoyed bowling and he played in the Dover Softball League.
Including his wife, survivors include a son: Guy R. Anctil of FL; a daughter: Catherine E. Anctil of VA; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was father of the late Joseph D. Fragoza, Jr. and brother of the late Anthony Fragoza, Ricardo Fragoza and Joan Trafaca.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10 AM

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
