Carol L. Danue, 84

Carol L. (Wellman) Danue, age 84, of Norton, formerly of Mansfield, passed away in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis D. Danue, to whom she was wed for fifteen years until his passing in 1969.
Born in Mansfield, MA on January 18, 1934, she was a loving daughter of the late Percy and Sadie (Fowler) Wellman.
Carol grew up in Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. She had made her home in Norton for over fifty years.
She served her family as a dedicated homemaker and when younger had been employed for several years as a bookkeeper at the former S.W. Card Manufacturing Co. in Mansfield.
A former member of the First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Carol loved spending time with her family on Cape Cod. Her hobbies included gardening, watching the Red Sox and Patriots, doing crossword puzzles and listening to talk radio. She had a special place in her heart for animals, which included feeding birds, and caring for her cats and dogs.
She is survived by her devoted children Larry Danue of Taunton, James Danue and his wife Maria of Clearwater, FL, Raymond Danue and his longtime companion Lynne Buswell of Pawtucket, RI, and Lorraine (Danue) Caponigro and her husband Gary of Rehoboth. She was the dear sister of Marjorie Anthony and her husband Charles of Sarasota, FL, and the late John Fowler, James Fowler, Frank Wellman and Barbara Walker. She is also survived by her cherished 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, June 4th at 11:00 at the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Plain St., Norton.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Carol with a donation in her memory made to Nine Lives of Norton Feline Rescue Shelter, 84 Hill St., Norton, MA 02766.
