Whitman – Esther Fournier 79, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Tuesday May 29 after a period of failing health.
Born in Lisbon, NH she was the daughter of the late Rosaire and Carolyn (Hill) Fournier.
Esther grew up in Quebec, Canada and moved to Whitman in 1954. She had worked for over thirty years for the ET Wright Shoe Company of Rockland and later worked seven years for Foot Joy of Brockton.
She loved working in her beautiful flower gardens, and grew countless fresh vegetables often sharing the bounty with friends and neighbors. She had enjoyed her yearly visits to Quebec to “catch up” with family and friends and had treasured the time spent on her many cruises.
She is survived by her longtime friend Mary Lambert of Whitman, and her sisters Bernice Morgan of NC and Janet Picchione of Florida. She was predeceased by her sister Jane Pelletier.
Her funeral Mass will be held Thursday June 7 at 11:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. By request, all other services are omitted.
